On Tuesday of last week I got to hang out in Firestone Park and get hit with water balloons, get stuck in an obstacle course and play corn hole. Saturday we piled into cars and traveled to southern Columbiana County to visit with our friends at Youth With A Purpose. There we went fishing, ate wonderful food, played more corn hole and shot some hoops. By the time Sunday came around I could barely move.
We tend to equate church with a building – holy space where we sing our favorite hymns, baptize our children and listen to God’s word. But church goes far beyond that – to conversations with strangers in a park, to worms on hooks in a farm pond with some kids in the process of healing, to communion of cookies, of ham sandwiches, of soda.
